Monday, May 6th

6 PM – 7:30 PM

DHR Madison County

Join us on Monday, May 6th as Aaron Ryan, Attorney with Conchin Cloud Cole, LLC comes to speak from the eyes of a Guardian Ad Litem (GAL).

Aaron Ryan graduated from Cumberland School of Law in May 2007 and has practiced in Madison County and the surrounding areas since October of 20117. He focuses on family law and personal injury cases. He also speaks Spanish and represents many Spanish-speaking members of our community on varied matters.

Aaron began his dependency work the day before Thanksgiving in 2009 when he received a phone call from a now-retired judge to come represent a Spanish-speaking father in an emergency hearing. Since that time, he has represented countless parents and children in dependency matters.

Aaron grew up in Georgia where he and his twin brother were accomplished athletes on both the gridiron and baseball diamond. Aaron learned from his parents and coaches about the work and commitment it takes to be successful. However, as much as his family history and ethos informed his character, it was a two year missionary commitment in rural Mexico as a young adult that would solidify his path toward law school.

Working in one of the most impoverished villages among our neighbors to the south, Aaron did not speak a word of Spanish when he arrived, and his hosts did not speak a word of English. Yet, it was under these circumstances that he learned to relinquish all that does not matter in this life, and to embrace those things that do: fairness, compassion, fortitude, and a foundational belief in the dignity of every human being.

Childcare link will be sent out in the near future. Keep an eye on Facebook Event Page as well as Remind notice to RSVP.

Thank you to Zach and Dave, The Foster Dads, for letting one of our own, Brandon Bishop, write about the myths and truths of foster care. Check out the article here:

Never heard of The Foster Dads? Well, they exist to amplify the voices of men involved in foster care and adoption, build connections between foster/adoptive fathers, and motivate other men to consider how they can support the foster/adoptive community. Follow them on Facebook, Instagram, and on their blog!
