In Case You Missed It…

We are excited to officially announce that starting next month, our monthly meetings will take place at the Butler Campus of The Rock Family Worship Center! We are also changing meeting days from Monday to Thursday. These changes will allow more families to attend while providing a more centralized location for all! We truly appreciate Pastor Leisa & The Rock’s ❤️ for foster care, adoption, and more importantly – Partnership!

Join us on Thursday, March 5th starting at 6:00 PM as someone from Alabama Foster & Adoptive Parent Association comes to speak about Prudent Parenting. As always, 1.5 CEU credit is available to those that attend.

Stay tuned for more exciting things to come!

Help us help you!

Did you know that January is National Mentoring Month? While we know that our foster parents are technically mentoring & modeling for the children in their care, we feel that they need mentors too!

One of MCFAPA’s initiatives for 2020 is to establish a Foster Parent Mentor Program called REAP. Our goals from this include:

  • Retaining much-needed foster families by providing a one-on-one mentor to provide encouragement & support.
  • Equipping new families with the skills & strategies needed to be successful in caring for children from hard places.
  • Assisting new families with the skills, strategies, & community that they need to be successful
  • Preventing disruptions with children in care due to stress

If you are a licensed foster family in Madison County, please take this short survey to help us with this initiative:

2019 Year in Review

MCFAPA had our best year ever in 2019 and we wanted to take a look back on all that we accomplished together. We want to say thank you to all our members, community partners, businesses, parents, children, and more that helped us serve so many this year. We can’t wait for 2020!
