We are back again this October for our annual Bros, Bows, & Boos Fall Fest! Publix joins us again this year as Presenting Sponsor. They have been a great partner over the years and we are glad to have them back!
Bros, Bows, & Boos is a celebration for foster, adoptive, & kinship families but is open to the public. We will have free “burgers & dogs” provided again by Hardee’s/Paradigm Investment Group as well as plenty of games, giveaways, costume contests, music, and our awesome silent auction! Plus, we will have local barbers & stylists to provide free hair cuts for our kiddos and haircare education to our families!
This event is completely free to those that attend and is put on through community partners, sponsors, and vendors. We still have some spots available. Just head over to our 2022 Bros, Bows, & Boos page to learn how to get involved.
MCFAPA invites you to our September monthly meeting as we welcome Keisha Jackson, a licensed social worker and children’s book author. Keisha will be sharing her experience as a social worker, reading some excerpts from her book along with ways that foster parents can utilize this resource, as well as tips & tricks to navigating DHR and resources.
Keisha is from Alabaster, AL. Her post graduate work has been specifically in the field of child welfare. She is a wife and proud mother of three children.
Keisha believes that every child deserves love and a place to call home. She loves to write and believes in writing about her personal and professional life to help inspire and motivate others. Trash: A Foster Care Journey is her first published children’s book and will be soon releasing another book around the topic of Kinship Caregivers.

We want YOU to help our little BOO’S with new SHOES!
Some children enter care with no shoes on their feet, literally, but luckily we can change that!
Today starts our “Shoes for Boos” drive for new shoes for The Den at DHR. Now through our Bros, Bows, & Boos Fall Fest on Sunday, Oct. 23rd, we are collecting new pairs of shoes for children entering foster care.
Don’t you remember the time that you were a kid and received a brand new pair of shoes? Maybe it was the new Jordan’s, Converse, or just new shoes in general. New shoes can make a dream come true for a child in foster care and can boost their self esteem.
PLUS, for each pair of new shoes donated, you will receive an entry for a grand prize totaling more than $200 to be given away at our event (announcement coming soon)! Don’t have time to shop for shoes, no worries! For each donation of $35 you will help provide a new pair of shoes to a child. Plus, for each donation you will receive an entry into our grand prize drawing! Donate below!
Shoes for Boos Donation
Your $35 donation will help provide a pair of shoes to a child entering foster care.
Would your workplace like to get involved? Encourage your employees to donate new pairs of shoes, collect them at your office, & call us to pick up! It’s that easy! Just be sure that the person that donated the pair of shoes includes their Name & Phone Number on a slip of paper inside the shoebox.
