RSVP for July Prudent Parenting Training

UPDATE 6/30/22: Due to the overwhelming response to this training, The Rock has informed us that childcare is at capacity. Adults may still register but please note that The Rock is unable to accept any more childcare registrations due to being at max capacity. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Join us as Buddy Hooper from the Alabama Foster & Adoptive Parent Association (AFAPA) and Becky Bevis with State DHR come to present Prudent Parenting.

The Reasonable and Prudent Parent Standard (RPPS), also know as just Prudent Parenting, is an attempt to normalize life for children in all forms of foster care. RPPS in Alabama flows out of national legislation designed to protect children in care and provide them the most “normal” life experiences possible.

Have questions about what is considered Prudent Parenting? Come out and get them answered!

RSVP by 5/30 for our June Meeting!

Join MCFAPA on the 1st Thursday of June, for our monthly meeting as we welcome Ann Marie Martin with the Partnership for a Drug-Free Community to speak about youth tobacco/vaping prevention.

This program focuses on making adults, especially parents/guardians/caregivers, aware of the dangers of vapes, cigarettes, & nicotine in general as well as the need for 100-percent smoke-free policies. It’s based on the Stanford University Medical School curriculum that is presented to students, specifically grades 4-12th.
They will have an anonymous pre- and post-survey that is given to the children. This, of course, is voluntary.
